Transforming Hardship

If I think my life has been hard, it is nothing compared to what people experienced during the Great Depression. And, what people experienced during the Great Depression is nothing compared to what people being tortured in prison camps are experiencing.

When I have a bit of leisure and abundance in my life, I try to spend some time reflecting on what I can do so that other people have the same. I ask myself, “How can I increase my own abundance in a way that has a positive effect for everyone, or at the very least doesn’t create more hardship”. We are all on this planet together and all have the same basic needs.

If I am fully present in the sparkling fresh immediacy of this moment without getting narrowed down into identification with conceptual processing, hardship does not exist no matter what is happening. Not so easy to see when the $hit is hitting the fan.
