The Big One

This wasn’t The Big One, but a large earthquake just hit 15 km NE of San Jose and 11km E of Milpitas. A preliminary report places the magnitude of this quake at 5.6 on the Richter scale.
I was upstairs and felt the house start to shake. I thought maybe somebody was doing a load of laundry. Once the whole freakin’ house started to shake violently, I realized it was an earthquake.
I’ll take this as a not so subtle seismic reminder of how fragile life is, and a reminder to focus on what is truly important in life.
