I get more calls from the Police charity squad than any other unsolicited call. They are immune to the do not call list so you can’t block them out.
I think there is something, however minute, in the back of people’s minds when they get a call from the police; that they better be on best behaviour, that there will be consequences if they don’t do what they are told. Something like, “I’m going to get a ticket if I don’t donate some money.”
The police have cost me enough time and money with ridiculous tickets for parking violations and such. Like when my car broke down and I couldn’t roll it to the mechanic until the next day and it was sitting on the side of the street completely harmless. And then fighting that ticket in court, and all the paper work to demonstrate inability to pay court fees, and losing the case. Sorry, the police fund isn’t getting squat from me.
