In Love
by Sean on Oct.17, 2008, under relationshipz, spirituality, thotz
Love is not real unless it is mutual. And, more importantly, love is not real unless it is eternal. Love eternal is life itself, seeing itself stripped of illusion.

Once a Weak
by Sean on Sep.11, 2008, under spirituality
I become weak when I let myself act out of anger or insecurity because of the thoughts I am having about how somebody else is perceiving me. Whether my thoughts or the other person’s perceptions are accurate or not, it is foolish to let myself get carried away by emotions and assume I know the absolute truth about the situation.
When a moment like this arises, I need to remember the times I have formed an opinion about somebody or something, only to find out later that my opinion was wrong. I need to remember that every living being shares the same basic desire to have happiness and avoid suffering. And, every living being has a different definition of “happiness” and a different path to achieving fulfillment. I should call to mind the times I have followed the wrong path only to bring about negative circumstances for myself and others.
I need to take my narrow frame of mind and expand it, recognizing the vastness of space and time.

Ownly Borrowed
by Sean on Aug.24, 2008, under spirituality
It is impossible to own anything. All of the possessions I have are only borrowed. And, this collection of atoms I reference as “me” is borrowed as well. When the time comes it will all be recycled back to the Earth. And even this planet is borrowed. It’s lifespan may be a few billion more years, or it may only be a few more years if we screw up.
The less I feel that I own things the more I am able to enjoy the stuff that temporarily comes into my life. And, the less painful it is when I have to give up something I cherish. The whole concept of ownership is a deception.

How about “Triumphs and Tribulations” for a positive spin? Puts more equilibrium in the old adage.

Within the dojo of mind, the brain maintains the way. Trips to higher elevations peak revelations. Scaling the summit of realization, compassionate emanations entrust the key to being free.

The Problem Solver
by Sean on Jun.17, 2008, under spirituality
The way to solve all problems is to recognize that problems do not actually exist, outside of how I choose to perceive reality. With this understanding internalized, I should take action to solve the falsely perceived problems for myself and others, making no exceptions.
The way to accomplish all goals is to recognize that everything is already completely accomplished simply by being. With this understanding internalized, I should take action to accomplish what seemingly needs to be done, without any hope or fear for results.
The way to stabilize this recognition is to constantly be aware when it is not present and I am acting solely out of impulse or habit.
Even an uneducated, diseased, horribly disfigured, socially-inept beggar can know this and be free.
Even a highly sophisticated, healthy, attractive, socially-connected millionaire can know this and be free.
This knowing is beyond intellect, encompasses the intellect and is easier said than lived.

The True Enemy
by Sean on Apr.28, 2008, under spirituality
What is with me wherever I go? The body.
People spend so much time catering to the body. Keeping it clean, keeping it healthy, keeping it fed, making it pretty for other people. And then it lets us down. It starts getting old, it starts getting ugly, it develops aches and pains, it gets diseases and eventually disintegrates. The enemy is not outside, it is the heap of atoms called me – the true “ene-me”.
