While walking back to my car downtown I saw a kid on the street who seemed to be flirting with a couple of girls. He was holding a cardboard sign. In passing I glanced at the sign which read, “Backflips for One Dollar!”

It is a good feeling when things start falling into place. Here’s what I’ve been thinking recently (formulated for readability):
Do what you love, and even if you find yourself in a situation where you have to carry out activities that feel like an obligation, don’t lose focus on what you truly care about. Summon more energy and internal strength. Find inspiring ways to liven up mundane responsibilities. Don’t plow a rut. Every moment is vibrant, fresh and full of possibilities. Stop avoiding being who you are for the sake of practicality.

If you believe in something, put everything into it without holding back even an ounce of effort. If you are a spiritual warrior, there is no attachment to results because this moment is perfect exactly how it is and that is always how it has been and always how it will be.

Non-Imitation Inspiration – California roll poetry
by Sean on May.15, 2006, under inspiration, poetry
Materialistic greed and survival worry attempt to stamp out imagination and the creative impulse. But these embers continue to burn even if starved of oxygen. When the ashes are blown away, a single spark ignites a forest fire that incinerates all of the dead wood and decay left by mundane endeavors. Fertile ground is exposed for the sprouting of innovation and creativity, bringing beauty and wonder into the world.
